Dhaka: The Rohingya repatriation is delayed, but the investigation and prosecution of each incident will continue, said International Criminal Court (ICC) director Fakiso Mchochoko. He made this information at a news conference on Tuesday (February 8th).

Fakiso Mchochoko, director of the ICC Prosecutor's Office at the Hotel Sonargaon in the capital, said the Rohingya retreat and investigation - trials are two different issues. The Rohingya retreat is a matter of Bangladesh, Myanmar and the international community. However, investigation and prosecution of the Rohingya persecution are separate issues. The delay in repatriation will not stop the investigation process.

Fakiso, an advisor to the ICC prosecutor, said that although Myanmar is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, the ICC's trial will not be affected.

In response to a question, he said, "We have launched an investigation for Rohingya atrocities." Any kind of cooperation in the Myanmar ICC investigation, we will continue our work even if we do not enter that country. Rohingya brutality will be judged today or tomorrow.

The ICC delegation arrived in Bangladesh on February 7. They have visited various places in Bangladesh. Following the visit, delegation leader Fakiso Mochocchow held a press conference on Tuesday.
